Richard Smith has been in the real estate business since 1966, having organized Richard Smith Company in 1970.  In 1986, Richard Smith Company joined Coldwell Banker Residential Affiliates, Inc. and now operates in 59 locations as Coldwell Banker United, Realtors® in Texas, Florida, South Carolina and North Carolina. The company engages in the sale and leasing of residential, industrial, commercial and farm and ranch realty.  The company is the largest independently owned real estate company in Texas in revenue units and is ranked by RealTrends as the 8th largest real estate firm in units in the nation at the end of 2013. It is also the largest company in Gross Commission Income and Units in the Coldwell affiliate network.

Helen Edwards is President and Chief Operating Officer of Coldwell Banker United, REALTORS®.  She leads the operation of 59 offices and nearly 2000 agents in Texas, Florida, North and South Carolina.

Helen has been involved in Texas real estate since 1982. She was raised in Brenham, TX.  A former owner of an independent real estate sales and property management company, Helen joined Coldwell Banker Richard Smith Realtors^® (now operating as Coldwell Banker United, Realtors^®) in 1990. She has served as the Relocation Director in Austin and was also an award winning branch manager in the Austin Region before transitioning into the role of President/COO of the Austin Region of the company.

A graduate of the Wharton School CEO Leadership Program in 2004, Helen has served in her current position as President and COO since June, 2012. She was recently awarded the International Chandler Barton Spirit Award by Coldwell Banker Real Estate Corp for her steadfast focus on professional objectives in spite of difficulty and adversity.

Helen served on the Austin Board of Realtors^® Board of Directors as well as the  Williamson County Association of Realtors^® Board of Directors.  She was named REALTOR of the Year for 2001 in Williamson County and has been actively involved in REALTOR associations for the past twenty years.  She served as Chair for the Texas Association of Realtors^® Strategic Planning Committee in 2012.  Additionally, she serves on a corporate leadership advisory council for the American Cancer Society, is a member of the Corporate Advisory Committee for REALTOR.COM, is an active volunteer with the American Red Cross and a hospice volunteer.

Helen is married to her husband, Rob and they make their home in Austin, TX.  They are the parents of four sons: Matt is the Relocation Director for Coldwell Banker United, Realtors^® in Austin and is married to Emily.  They are the parents of two of Helen’s favorite people in the world Tyler (4) and Lexi (2).  Mark is an attorney with White and Case in NYC and is married to Hannah. They live in Brooklyn with their daughter Juniper.  Stephen is the owner of an insurance brokerage firm in Dallas, C1 Insurance, and is married to Diana.  They live in Carrollton.  Michael is a freshman at Mercer University in Macon, GA where he plays lacrosse.
